My first Hot pot in China

During my stay and study in China, I tried to meet China and Beijing, the city I lived in, as much as possible from as many aspects and different perspectives as possible. It is precisely this attitude, way, and approach which has paved the way for me to get  know well Chinese culture, language, history and tradition, but it also feeds my heart.

My favourite Chinese dish is a Hot Pot. There are many different versions and preparations but also different ways to enjoy Hot Pot. Certainly, I was looking forward to my first experience of a traditional Chinese hot pot.

Hot pot is a type of food which you prepare while eating, but also you have the opportunity to enjoy being with your family and friends.

The preparation process itself is simple. It could be said, everyone at the table cooks and prepares for themselves. The Hot Pot can be organized so that each person has their own pot in front of themselves with different sauces inside or that there is a large pot with sauce on the table being used by everyone together. The pot is at a constant temperature and it does not stop  boiling while all the ingredients get poured into it.

The most amazing fact is that eating Hot Pot is always a leisurely occasion and you get to spend a lot of time with family, friends, or even business partners. I will share my experience through pictures.
